Plano ISD and the city will host a Back to School Extravaganza on July 25 to give district families in need the opportunity to pick up school resources and essentials for the new school year. The gathering will also offer job fair opportunities, family activities, school resources, food and more, according to a district announcement.

Families will receive a box of shelf-stable food and a backpack filled with school supplies for each student present at the fair. Officials request that families bring proof of enrollment in PISD. The event will be from 4-7 p.m. at the Plano Event Center, 2000 E. Spring Creek Parkway, while supplies last.

School registration, enrollment, health screenings and immunizations will also be available during the event, according to the district website.

The first day of school is slated to be Aug. 11, though PISD teachers will begin the year with a staff development work day Aug. 3.
