All Plano ISD schools and facilities will be closed Feb. 3-4 due to the expected inclement weather, extreme temperatures and the potential for unsafe driving conditions expected throughout the district.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch beginning at 6 p.m. Feb. 2 for the Dallas-Fort Worth area with ice and snow as well as low temperatures and strong winds expected.

PISD's closures will be considered inclement weather days and will be made up later in the year, according to a message on the district website. There will be no instruction, online or in person, on these days.

Activities and competitions scheduled for the afternoons of Feb. 2-4 have also been canceled or postponed, according to the district message. A special called meeting of the PISD board of trustees on Feb. 3 to discuss the district's superintendent search in closed session was among the district activities that have been canceled.

Additional information is available on the PISD website.
