Plano ISD’s Adult Transition Center will be renamed as the Charmaine Solomon Adult Transition Center.
Charmaine Solomon is a founder of the Plano-based My Possibilities nonprofit, which provides continuing educational services to adults with disabilities. Solomon also serves as the chair of My Possibilities.
PISD's transition center provides skills-based training and employment opportunities to its students. It is located at 1631 Dorchester Drive, Plano.
PISD purchased the building that houses the center from My Possibilities in 2016. My Possibilities moved to a new campus near the intersection of Mapleshade Lane and the President George Bush Turnpike in Plano.
The PISD board of trustees approved the name change at its April 9 meeting.
