Plano ISD Superintendent Brian Binggeli plans to speak from the podium at Tuesday's board of trustees meeting to address recent reports that he is resigning, a district spokesperson said.

Trustees will consider Binggeli's resignation and the resignation of board member Greg Myer at the work session, the public portion of which will begin at 6 p.m. at the Plano ISD Administration Building, 2700 W. 15th St.

PISD spokesperson Lesley Range-Stanton said the district would release a joint statement after Binggeli's comments from the podium. Myer's resignation, she said, is unrelated to that of the district's top administrator.

"The resignation of the trustee is a separate, unrelated action," Range-Stanton said.

In an email to Community Impact Newspaper, Myer declined to comment on his resignation. The trustee, elected earlier this year, had written in a Nov. 20 letter informing school board President Missy Bender that he was resigning for "personal reasons." No further explanation was outlined in the letter.

Binggeli, the district's superintendent since 2015, had not returned requests for comment by late Tuesday morning. The reason for his resignation was unclear.
