Wincrest Orthodontics to open new practice in Plano

Wincrest Orthodontics plans to begin serving patients Feb. 8 at 7110 Preston Road, Ste. 100, Plano. Dr. Ben Winters and his staff will offer orthodontic care such as braces and Invisalign as well as teeth-whitening services.

Pottery Barn coming soon to Plano

Pottery Barn will open next to the Whole Foods at 2201 Preston Road, Plano. An opening date has not been confirmed. The home furnishings chain offers furniture, bedding, kitchenware, lighting fixtures, window coverings, bath linens, wall decor and more.

Cheeky Monkeys, a play area and birthday party venue for kids, will open a third Texas location at 9160 N. Freeway, Fort Worth, in spring 2021. The company provides social and educational play space for children up to 8 years old.

Aldi to open new Fort Worth location

An Aldi grocery store will open Feb. 18 at 5185 Golden Triangle Blvd. in Fort Worth. The grocery chain, originally founded in Germany, focuses on store-exclusive food brands and fresh produce.

Amazon delivery station in Alliance area among 6 opening in DFW this year

Amazon will open a new delivery station later this year in the Alliance area. The new facility will be east of I-35W at Litsey Road and Beach Street in Fort Worth.

McKinney

Amazon delivery station in McKinney among 6 opening in DFW this year

Amazon said these stations will help increase the efficiency of deliveries for customers. Hundreds of full- and part-time jobs starting at $15 per hour will be available and will include various benefits packages from Day One.

TeaLatte Bar to bring taste of Hawaii to McKinney

TeaLatte Bar plans to open by the end of February at 7001 S. Custer Road, Ste. 400, McKinney. The cafe combines several blends of Hawaiian-inspired tea and coffee. More than a dozen blends of tea can be customized with different flavors, boba and jelly.

Greenville Avenue Pizza Co. to open new Richardson location


Greenville Avenue Pizza Co., also known as GAPCo, plans to open a new location this spring at 520 Lockwood Drive, Richardson. The eatery originally hoped to open its Richardson location by the end of 2020, but delays related to construction and the coronavirus pandemic pushed back its opening.

The Grapevine Chamber of Commerce will begin distributing rapid COVID-19 tests to local small-business owners as early as next week to help mitigate the spread of the virus.

Eviction filings set to hit courts after months-long pause

Over the last seven months, roughly 10 of every 30 residential eviction cases in the courtroom of Justice of the Peace Mike Missildine, whose Precinct 3 covers much of Plano, have been delayed due to the eviction moratorium. Those cases are now beginning to move forward, and without the hurdle of a moratorium, a slew of new cases are anticipated, he said.
