The city of Plano announced today that Oak Point Recreation Center will temporarily close on Jan. 31 for renovations. The recreation center located at 6000 Jupiter Road, Plano, is expected to reopen in the fall, according to a news release from the city. Renovations at the recreation center will include:
  • Refinishing the basketball and racquetball court floors
  • Resurfacing the pool deck
  • Creating a new front desk
  • Making general updates, including paint, flooring and lighting
  • Adding a weight room will new equipment and more than 35 cardio machines
  • Converting the existing weight room into a studio classroom
  • Adding a locker room and updating the current locker rooms
  • Installing new mechanical equipment in the pool
While Oak Point Recreation Center is closed, guests will be able to use Plano’s other recreation and aquatic centers. Here is a map of other centers guests will be able to access:
