The Plano City Council is expected to approve a number of consent items at its April 15 regular meeting at 7 p.m. Below is a summary of items up for approval and discussion at both the preliminary and regular meetings, to be held at Municipal Center, 1520 K Ave. The preliminary meeting typically begins around 6 p.m. The meeting can be viewed online through Plano TV at www.plano.gov.
Preliminary meeting items up for discussion include:
- Discussion from executive session regarding the city's pending litigation against Elizabeth Carruth and Plano Future over the parties' request for referendum for the Plano Tomorrow Plan.
- Presentation from Comprehensive Planning Manager Doug McDonald on the Heritage Commission's memorandum regarding the Collinwood House.
- Presentation from Budget Director Karen Rhodes-Whitley regarding the possibility of increasing funding for the Cultural Affairs Commission's arts and historic grants.
- Parks and Recreation developmental report by Parks and Recreation Department Director Amy Fortenberry.
Regular meeting agenda items for approval and/or discussion include:
- Approval of a landscape services agreement between the city and JBI Partners Inc. in the amount of $542,500 for design and construction of Carpenter Park athletic field and skate park (consent agenda).
- Approval to increase construction manager at risk contract for Jack Carter Pool by $262,664 for irrigation, audio/visual equipment and concrete trail connection from Roundrock Trail to Pleasant Valley Road (consent agenda).
- Authorization to issue general obligation bonds in the amount of $79 million to fund the city's pending water and sewer system infrastructure projects (consent agenda).
- Public hearing to consider the appeal of the Planning & Zoning Commission's denial of a rezoning request and concept plan for the Preserve at Legacy Trail North and South, a single-family residential development at McDermott Road and Robinson roads.
- Public hearing to consider a rezoning request for 6.5 acres of land located at the northwest corner of G Avenue and 13th/14th Connector for the Artists Lofts, a multifamily residential development in Historic Downtown Plano.
