“Kroger is currently working with the city for planning and zoning approvals for a new store in Plano,” Kroger spokesperson John Votava said in an email. “We hope to share more at a later date.”
Plano Planning Director Christina Day said there are city plans under review for a new Kroger, although the new store is not scheduled to be discussed at a specific Planning and Zoning Commission agenda yet, as the city is “still working through staff comments.”
The city of Plano zoning map shows a 26-acre parcel of land on the northwest corner of Coit and Ridgeview under review for a “convenience store, restaurant, retail, superstore and vacant lot on 12 lots.” The land is zoned for regional employment commercial use.
