1. Smoke restaurant to close
The Dallas-based restaurant Smoke will close its Plano location at 2408 Preston Road, Ste. 704A. A statement on the restaurant’s Facebook page said that Smoke is closing because “there is no more gas left in the tank,” and that current employees would be located to one of their other restaurants. Smoke has another location in Dallas, and is sister restaurants with Bolsa Restaurant, The Theodore, Chicken Scratch and The Foundry Bar. 2. Plano council to discuss mosquito traps, budgetary decisions
The Plano City Council will hold its regularly-scheduled meeting Monday night at 7 p.m. at the Plano Municipal Center, 1520 K Ave. Council members will receive a briefing on the status of the mosquito season prior to the regular meeting. Council members will also hold a public hearing on the city's budget and Community Investment Program.
3. Tollway authority to continue Dallas North Tollway closures this weekend
Portions of the Dallas North Tollway will be closed at the Sam Rayburn Tollway juncture Aug. 18-21.[/caption]
The North Texas Tollway Authority announced early Monday morning the construction that had shut down portions of the Dallas North Tollway this past weekend were complete. Weather permitting, the crews plans on similar road closures this coming weekend starting Friday evening and lasting until early Monday morning at the same Sam Rayburn Tollway-DNT juncture.
