The first call came in through an alarm in the restaurant around 4:35 a.m., and later IHOP employees called in the fire when they saw smoke, Capt. Peggy Harrell, Plano Fire-Rescue PIO, said in an email.
“First arriving fire crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the building and entered to fight the fire,” she said. “After about 30 minutes of fighting the fire, crews were pulled from the inside and fought the fire defensively from the outside.”
No one was in the building during the fire, Harrell said.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined but investigators are on scene beginning to gather information, Harrell said.
