Several city facilities in Plano will close or operate with altered hours in observance of the Fourth of July, according to the city’s website.

The overview

The following city facilities will be closed July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
  • Plano Animal Shelter
  • Day Labor Center
  • Plano Municipal Center
  • Davis, Haggard, Harrington, Parr and Schimelpfenig Public Libraries
  • Sam Johnson Recreation Center
  • Texas Pure Products Regional Composting Site and Custer Road Facility
In addition to facility closures, several others will operate with reduced hours.
  • Carpenter Park, Oak Point and Liberty Recreation Centers, 1-6 p.m.
  • High Point Tennis Center, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Jack Carter Pool, 1-6 p.m.
  • Plano Aquatic Center, 1-6 p.m.
Trash and recycling collection will not be affected, city officials said.
