Plano’s Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval on two site plans at its May 5 meeting.

What happened?

The first site plan is for the development of a 7,700 square foot medical office at the northeast corner of Old Shepard Place and Preston Park Court.

The medical office would be located in what is currently a green field in the Preston Park South development. The space was previously set to house an office building with an underground parking garage, but that site plan—which was approved in 2006—never came to fruition.

The commission recommended approval on the plan in a 7-1 vote with Commissioner J. Michael Brounoff voting against the site plan over parking concerns. As part of the approved site plan, the requirement for parking spaces on the lot was reduced to 26.

The second approved site plan was for a 0.9 acre car wash on SH 121, just west of Coit Road.

What’s next

Both projects will be considered for final approval at a future Plano City Council meeting.
