Plano area children will have the chance to design street banners that will be displayed downtown this spring.

The big story

The Downtown Plano Arts District is asking youth ages 5-18 to submit original artwork reflecting the theme “springtime in downtown Plano.” Artists must reside within Plano ISD boundaries, according to a news release from the city.

Eight selected artists will have their artwork displayed on banners throughout downtown Plano, and each receive $100.
