Several city facilities in Plano are planned to be closed in observance of Labor Day Sept. 2, according to the city’s posted holiday hours.

In addition to planned facility closures, trash and recycling collections scheduled from Sept. 2-5 will be delayed by one day and picked up Sept. 3-6.

What’s happening?

Per the city’s website, the following facilities will be closed:
  • Plano Animal Shelter
  • Day Labor Center
  • Plano Household Chemical Reuse Center
  • Interurban Railway Museum
  • The Nature and Retreat Center at Oak Point Park
  • Plano Municipal Center offices
  • The Davis, Haggard, Harrington, Parr and Schimelpfenig branches of the Plano Public Library
  • Sam Johnson Recreation Center for Adults 50+
  • Texas Pure Products Regional Composting Site and Custer Road facility
Pecan Hollow Golf Course and the High Point Tennis Center will be open Labor Day. The Plano Aquatic Center and the Carpenter Park, Oak Point, Liberty & Tom Muehlenbeck recreation centers will be open from 1-6 p.m.
