An annual assessment on select properties in downtown Plano will be collected to help cover the cost of improvements in the district.

Plano City Council approved the 2024 operations and maintenance plan and levying of necessary assessments worth over $76,000s within the Downtown Plano Public Improvement District at the Aug. 12 meeting.

The overview

Council members and the district’s advisory board are required to approve the annual service and assessment plan, which is used to stimulate residential and business activity downtown. Per city documents, the upcoming service plan will pay for projects including beautification efforts, events and management of the district.
