The usual system for requesting a brush collection in Plano is back in use after it was suspended because of storm debris collections.

Residents can once again request special brush collections, which are paid, for any vegetative debris outside of the weekly yard trimming collections, according to the city’s website. Monthly bulky item collections are still taking place as scheduled.

What you need to know

The special paid collections, which are requested by residents and take place outside of regular weekly and monthly services, resumed Aug. 5. The service is offered for vegetation beyond the regular yard trimmings, bulky items outside the monthly collection date and large construction debris, per the city website.

Fees for the service are $10 per cubic yard, with a $20 minimum fee. Bulky items, such as refrigerators and window air conditioning units, have a $25 per unit fee.
