Parents of Plano Independent School District students will have greater control over what their child can check out at the school library due to a new program, according to the district's website.

The program, called Library.Solution or L2S, will be implemented when students return to school Jan. 7.

The details

L2S will allow parents or guardians to receive emails when students check out a book, when books are overdue or when a payment for overdue books is needed. It will also allow parents to set restrictions on what books their children can check out and it will include an online catalog for primary students.

Additionally, users will be able to build reading lists, place holds on materials and rate books they have finished, according to information found on the district website.

More information will be available to parents when school resumes.
