The Centurion American Development Group has revealed plans for the 241-acre Southfork Ranch in Parker, nearly two years after purchasing the property in 2022.

The gist

Centurion American officials plan to build 89 two-acre estate lots in partnership with a curated list of luxury builders, according to an Aug. 23 news release. Parker’s planning and zoning commission approved rezoning about 205.4 acres of the property for single-family residential during an Aug. 22 meeting.

Following the meeting, Centurion American officials will present their plans to Parker City Council at a future meeting. A development timeline and list of home builders is expected to be announced in the following months, according to the news release.

The estate lots will be built around a nearly 37-acre parcel containing the Southfork Mansion, event center, visitors center and a newly built rodeo arena, according to documents submitted to the city.

The background

Southfork Ranch served as the setting for the "Dallas" TV show that ended in 1991. The show filmed its first five episodes at what is now known as Brinkmann Ranch in Frisco before moving to Parker.

Quote of note

“We’ve spent the past two years working to improve the Southfork Ranch site,” said Sean Terry, Centurion American’s vice president of entitlements, in a statement. “We have long-term improvement plans to ensure that visitors can enjoy the history of Southfork Ranch for generations to come.”
