Celina residents could see a new country club open as soon as November 2024.

Plans for 1876 Country Club are underway at the Legacy Hills property, a 3,200-acre planned development that broke ground in April 2022, according to a Nov. 14 news release from Sunwest Communications.

“1876 will offer Celina and all of the region a truly unique and special place to gather,” said Mehrdad Moayedi, CEO of Centurion American Development Group, in the news release. “This spectacular country club will become the central hub for the Legacy Hills development.”

About the project

The 1876 Country Club, named for the year Celina was established, will feature:
  • Club house
  • Tennis courts
  • Swimming pool
  • Dining and social spaces
  • An 18-hole scenic golf course
  • Driving range and short-game area
  • Fitness centers with men’s and women’s locker rooms
  • Sauna spaces

Development team members are considering adding a hotel to the property, according to the news release.

The golf course is slated to open sometime in November 2024. Construction on the clubhouse facilities is expected to begin shortly after, according to the news release.
