Construction will soon start on the Surf and Swim water park in Garland after City Council members approved a $25 million contract in July to rebuild the facility.

What’s happening?

Recreation Director D’Lee Williams said design for the project has been completed. The project's first preconstruction meeting should take place in a couple of weeks. Demolition of the existing park is expected to start shortly after that, she said.

Construction of the new park is expected to finish in early 2026, and it's expected to open for the summer season that year, Williams said.
