Plano Art Association is opening a new space in The Shops at Willow Bend, according to a news release from the organization.

The 1,400-square-foot gallery will host the Plano Art Association’s future exhibits, workshops, meetings and special events. The gallery is located on the second floor above the mall entrance near Crate & Barrel.

The gallery’s grand opening weekend is set for Sept. 27 and 28, with a “kick-off reception” planned for Friday at 6:30 p.m. The first exhibit will feature work from artists within a 125-mile radius of Plano. The gallery will also host the Carnival of the Arts from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, which will be open to the public.

“Plano Art Association has had an objective to establish its own gallery for a long time,” President Melanie Brigante said in the release. “We know that this will enhance our ability to better serve our members’ needs for showcasing their art, as well as, enhancing the community’s awareness of the wonderful work local artists create.”
