Shinola Plano, the Detroit- based clothing and watch store, is hosting a live music event from 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at 1039 E. 15th St.

Washington, D.C. based singer/songwriter  Tomás Pagán Motta is set to play his mix of folk guitar Americana at the first music event Shinola has hosted since it opened in downtown Plano in June.

The concert is the store's way of supporting and being a part of downtown Plano's recent designation as the city's arts district, said Erin Benson, marketing specialist for Shinola Plano. More concerts will take place throughout the year, she said.

“We as a company embrace American artists,” Benson said.

To RSVP to the event, email RSVP_Plano@shinola.com.
