After much discussion over the proposed State Highway 26 Reconstruction Program, the City of Colleyville has announced two public meetings with the Colleyville City Council which will take place on Oct. 28 and Nov. 12.

The first meeting, called a "worksession," will be at City Hall on Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m.

During the worksession, three items are scheduled for discussion. A SH 26 boulevard project update and a Texas Department of Transportation presentation.

The third item on the agenda is an executive session for "economic development" purposes. In accordance with state meeting laws, the city plans to "discuss or deliberate regarding commercial or financial information that the city has received from business prospects that the city seeks to have locate, stay, or expand in the city and with which the city is conducting economic development negotiations; deliberate the offer of a financial or other incentive to a business prospect."

The city does not plan to allow any public comments at the meeting; it is for informational purposes only.

Update the city council on the current status of Phase I of the SH 26 reconstruction project from the Pool and Brumlow intersection to John McCain Road.

Present the city council strategy and timeline for completion of the remaining section of SH 26 from John McCain Road to Brown Trail.

Get direction from the city council on how to proceed with funding the section from John McCain to Hall to Johnson Road, including a discussion of using the TxDOT "pass-through" option as a funding mechanism.

However, the meeting on Nov. 12 is focused around a public hearing.

The council will first give a 30-minute project review presentation before heading into a 90-minute open session where public comments will be heard.

The second meeting will be at First Baptist Colleyville, 5300 Colleyville Blvd, in order to host as large an audience as possible.
