The city of McKinney has canceled or modified certain services for the rest of the week in expectation of winter weather. Modified city services


Transit

Collin County Transit has canceled all nonessential trips for Feb. 3. The Downtown Area Shuttle has suspended all services for Feb. 3-4.

Libraries

Both Roy & Helen Hall Memorial Library and John and Judy Gay Public Library will close at 6 p.m. on Feb. 2. The libraries will be closed Feb. 3.

Parks and recreation


All facilities and recreation centers, including the Apex Centre, will be closed Feb. 3. The Friday Night Country Dance originally scheduled for Feb. 4 at the senior recreation center has been rescheduled to Feb. 11. Congregate meals at the senior recreation center are canceled for Feb. 3.

All outdoor restrooms, the dog park splash pad and fountains closed Feb. 2 and will not reopen until weather conditions improve.

McKinney Performing Arts Center

The MPAC will be closed Feb. 3-4. It is scheduled to open at 10 a.m. on Feb. 5.


Visit McKinney

The visitor center and store is closed until Feb. 4.

Municipal court

The court will be closed Feb. 3. Staff will not be answering calls or emails.

Warming center


The McKinney Salvation Army has opened its warming center at 600 Wilson Creek Parkway, and it will remain open while temperatures are expected to be below 32 degrees Fahrenheit or 35 degrees with rain, according to the city site.


Doors open at 7 p.m. for overnight guests, and free rides will be available from Hall Library from 7-8 p.m. After 10 p.m. guests will only be allowed inside with a referral or police escort. No ID is required to stay at the warming center.
