From a vintage market, election day and a night hike, there is plenty to do in McKinney this weekend. Here are some events to keep in mind:

Vintage Market Days
This vintage-inspired indoor market will have over 90 vendors showcasing antiques, original art, jewelry, clothing, home decor, outdoor furnishings, food and seasonal planting. Tickets may be purchased at the gate for $10 (three-day pass) or $5 (Saturday and Sunday) and includes re-entry all weekend. Children 12 years old and younger are free. Market hours for Friday and Saturday will run from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This event will be held at Myers Park & Event Center, located at 7117 CR 166, McKinney. Election day
Saturday is election day in McKinney. There are 16 candidates running for McKinney City Council where four seats are up for grabs, including the mayor’s seat. There are also six candidates seeking seats on the McKinney ISD board of trustees where four seats are up for grabs. In addition to City Council and MISD races, Collin College board of trustees has seven candidates running for four places and a bond referendum on the ballot this year.

Hear Beethoven's Symphony No. 5
The Odysseus North Texas Chamber Orchestra presents Symphony No. 5 by Beethoven and Schumann’s Cello Concerto. The performance will be held at 8 p.m. at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, located at 111 N. Tennessee St., McKinney. Tickets are available for $18 for adults and $14 for students age 13 and older, and seniors age 65 and older. For more information, call 972-547-2650 or visit the event’s website.

Night Hike
Hosted by the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary, this hike allows attendees to explore the sights, smells and sounds of night with Heard Trail guides. Night hikers are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and bug spray. Flashlights are allowed and participants will be outside for at least an hour. Preregistration for the event is required. Tickets are $14 for nonmembers and $12 for Heard Museum members. The hike will begin at 8 p.m. at the main building, located at 1 Nature Place, McKinney. Farmers Market at Sunset
Will and Crystal Yates will be performing at this week’s market. There will also be vendors selling food and beverages. Proceeds will benefit the Dulaney House restoration, and tickets are $20 for nonmembers and $18 for Chestnut Square members. The market and concert will take place from 5-7 p.m. at the Chestnut Square Historic Village, located at 315 S. Chestnut St., McKinney. For more information, visit Chestnut Square’s website.
