A new kung fu academy is coming soon to west McKinney.

Kung Fu Academy of North Texas will offer classes for kids, teens and adults, co-owner Mallory Gilbert said. Customers who register for a membership will be able to attend as many classes as they want and will have access to a members-only fitness area. The academy will also offer birthday party packages and self-defense workshops, Gilbert said.

The academy’s classes will offer instruction of martial arts styles led by co-owner Cory Gilbert, a 20-year veteran in practicing Kung Fu with a third-degree black belt, according to the academy’s website.
