Check out these eight new businesses coming to the McKinney area.

1. Wing Chow

Wing Chow is expected to open in east McKinney in July, owner Sean Atwood said. The new eatery is located at 1500 W. University Drive, Ste. A. The restaurant will be a “blue-collar eatery” serving dishes such as chicken wings and fried rice, Atwood said. A phone number and website are not yet available.

2. Goody Goody Liquor

A new Goody Goody Liquor store is planned for south McKinney. The plans for the facility, located at 3801 S. Lake Forest Drive near McKinney Ranch Parkway, include a single building on about 1.4 acres, according to city documents. The store offers a variety of beers, wines, liquors, drink mixers and more. Dallas-based Goody Goody Liquor opened its first store in Dallas in 1964 and now operates over 20 liquor stores across Texas, according to its website. www.goodygoody.com


3. Kiddie Academy

A new Kiddie Academy location is planned for north McKinney in the Trinity Falls development, according to a representative of the company. The preschool, located at the southwest corner of Somerville Drive and Trinity Falls Parkway, will span over 10,000 square feet, including 11 classrooms, according to city documents. Kiddie Academy is an educational child care center that offers programs for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old, according to its website. 4. Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods

Spec’s is scheduled to open in its first McKinney location in 2024, according to a representative of the company. The store will be located at 2900 W. University Drive, Ste. 100, McKinney, near Skyline Drive. Spec’s is a Houston-based liquor store with over 180 locations, according to its website. 5. Dunkin'

Dunkin’ is expected to open a new McKinney location in the fall, according to a representative of the brand. The new coffee shop will be located at 2761 Virginia Parkway, McKinney. The location is the fourth in McKinney for the coffee company, according to its website. The nationwide chain is known for its coffee and doughnuts. www.dunkindonuts.com

6. Rumble Boxing

McKinney’s first Rumble Boxing studio is expected to open its doors later this year, according to a representative of the business. The fitness studio, to be located at 6201 S. 7. Ugly Mug Coffee House

Ugly Mug Coffee House is expected to open a new coffee shop concept in the Shoppes at Stonebridge development in west McKinney, owner Jeffrey Poe said. The coffee shop, to be located at the southwest corner of Stonebridge Drive and Plainfield Drive, is expected to open in 2024. The coffee shop will serve specialty coffees as well as flavored sodas, teas, energy drinks and more, Poe said. A phone number and website are not yet available.

8. Hideaway Pizza

Hideaway Pizza plans to open its first Texas location in north McKinney, according to a representative of the company. The McKinney restaurant will be located at 2101 N. Hardin Blvd., according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The pizza restaurant is expected to open in early 2024 and will feature about 240 seats, a full bar and a large rooftop patio, the representative said. Hideaway Pizza’s menu includes fried mushrooms, salads, sandwiches, baked pastas, specialty pizzas and more, according to the restaurant’s website. www.hideawaypizza.com
