Looking to try a new lunch or dinner spot? These seven restaurants are newly opened in the McKinney area.

1. O’ Desi Aroma

The fast-casual Indian restaurant opened in north McKinney on March 2, according to co-owner Hitesh Wadhawan.

The restaurant, located at 1620 N. Hardin Blvd., Ste. 1800, serves a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, kebabs, biryanis and more, according to its website. The menu also includes Indo-Chinese dishes, samosas, naan, dessert options and more.

The restaurant’s first location opened on the Plano-Frisco border in 2017, followed by a second location in north Irving in late 2019. 2. Shoagies

Shoagies held its grand opening in south McKinney on March 25, according to a representative of the restaurant.

Shoagies, located at 5121 Collin McKinney Parkway, Ste. 200, offers Chicago-style hoagie sandwiches with a variety of toppings and proteins, according to its menu. The restaurant menu also includes burgers, cheesesteaks, tacos, loaded fries and more. 214-842-8448. www.shoagies.com

3. Jason’s Deli


Jason’s Deli opened its second McKinney location April 3, according to Vice President of Marketing Brandy Butler.

The new restaurant is located at 8600 W. University Drive, McKinney, at the northwest corner of US 380 and Walnut Grove Road. The chain is known for its selection of sandwiches, salads, soups, wraps, baked potatoes and baked treats. 214-764-5220. www.jasonsdeli.com

4. Bob’s Steak and Chop House

Bob’s Steak and Chop House opened its 15th location in McKinney’s District 121 on June 2, according to founder Bob Sambol.


The restaurant, located at 7220 SH 121, is the first restaurant to open in the District 121 development. The restaurant offers the same “time-honored menu” as its other locations, including steaks, seafood, baked potatoes and the steakhouse’s signature glazed carrot, according to a news release.

5. Heian

Heian opened in south McKinney on April 24, Manager Aili Kim said.


The new family-owned restaurant is located at 2960 Eldorado Parkway, Ste. 50, McKinney. The eatery offers Japanese-style hand rolls, sushi and sashimi with an emphasis on fresh and simple ingredients, Kim said.

6. Napoli’s Pizza On The Go

Napoli’s Pizza On The Go opened in south McKinney on June 1, co-owner Artan Krasniqi.


The family-run restaurant, located at 3755 S. Lake Forest Drive, Ste. 100, serves a variety of Italian dishes, including pizzas, baked pastas, calzones and strombolis, according to its website. Salads; subs; and desserts, including cakes from Carlo’s Bake Shop, can also be found on the menu.

7. Kyoto Hibachi Sushi and Bar

Kyoto Hibachi Sushi and Bar opened in north McKinney on May 16, according to a representative of the restaurant.

The restaurant, located at 1620 N. Hardin Blvd., McKinney, offers a variety of Japanese dishes, including hibachi-style chicken, steak and seafood as well as salads and bento boxes.
