McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller and First McKinney Baptist Church present "The Spirit of Christmas," a concert to benefit local McKinney initiatives, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 11.

The concert will be held at First McKinney, 1615 W. Louisiana St., McKinney, and will feature more than 100 performers, including musicians from McKinney’s high schools and the community in partnership with the music ministry of First McKinney.

“The Second Annual Mayor’s Benefit Concert at First McKinney Baptist Church promises to once again provide a meaningful start to the Christmas season as we listen to wonderful music while supporting local charities that benefit those in need during this season and throughout the year,” Loughmiller said.

Special guest performers include professional musicians Maylee Thomas and Shane Frame. Proceeds from the concert will support The Samaritan Inn, Hope Women’s Center and Community Lifeline Center.

“We’re mixing it up a bit,” said Myron Wilson, First McKinney minister of music, in a news release. “The evening will feature a variety of music: classic, country and contemporary. We have a full orchestra and choir performing some iconic and well-loved pieces. From Boston Pops’ 'Sleigh Ride' to our men’s choir performing ‘Hot Chocolate’ from 'Polar Express,' we promise an evening you won’t forget.”

Tickets are available at First McKinney, at Wishful Thinking in downtown McKinney or online.
