Left turns are now prohibited for westbound traffic on Purnell Street from the east driveway entrance for Mill Street Elementary School.

The school’s pickup and dropoff system was being affected by the ability to turn left onto Purnell Street, according to a presentation at a June 15 Lewisville City Council meeting.

The change was requested by Lewisville ISD. The newly constructed school opened to students last October.

Council members voted unanimously in favor of the change following a recommendation by the city's transportation council.
