Here are the details for two ongoing construction projects in Coppell and one upcoming project in Lewisville.

Ongoing projects

1. DART Silver Line

Construction crews began work at MacArthur Boulevard and East Belt Line Road in July. Work near the rail crossing is scheduled to occur in three phases from July-September, according to Dallas Area Rapid Transit. The inside northbound and southbound lanes of MacArthur Boulevard closed for the first phase. The outside northbound and southbound lanes will be closed during Phase 2. Phase 3 is expected to include a full four-day closure of South MacArthur Boulevard.

Timeline: 2019-2026 (entire Silver Line project)

2. Moore Road Boardwalk

The Moore Road Boardwalk project is 75% complete, according to city officials. The project’s scope includes installing a new boardwalk structure along the south side of the pond that is near the parking lot at Moore Road Park. The concrete boardwalk will be 486 feet and will have a safety handrail. Construction crews will drill 66 piers at depths that range from 20 feet to 40 feet.

Upcoming projects


3. I-35 utility relocation

Lewisville City Council approved a bid award for utility relocation along I-35E between Corporate Drive and Huffines Boulevard. The project’s scope includes new water lines, new wastewater lines and appurtenances, according to the July 17 agenda item. The project’s purpose is to relocate existing water and wastewater main lines to accommodate Texas Department of Transportation’s upcoming I-35E interchange expansions at Corporate Drive and SH 121 Business.

Timeline: relocation anticipated to start Aug. 7

Cost: $10 million
