Nov. 5

The Art Pop-ups in the Plaza series concludes Nov. 5. The five-week series features a rotating lineup of artists creating live art in the form of their choice every Saturday. Lewisville artist Darla Bostick will be demonstrating creating travel art journals. Bostick is a member of the Visual Arts of Lewisville, and she regularly presents art workshops and retreats in the U.S. and abroad. 10:30 a.m.-noon. Free. Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W. Readers are invited to meet local authors and learn more about their work and the writing process during the Indie Author Fair. North Texas Wine Country is hosting its signature fall event, the Drink North Texas Wine Festival. A variety of winery and vendor booths will be out to sample wine. Christian Youth Theatre Dallas’ "Mary Poppins" production continues over the weekend. The show showcases special effects and illusions, and will have a mixture of stories, songs and dance numbers. 2 p.m., 7 p.m. (Nov. 5); 2 p.m. (Nov. 6). Tickets start at $16. The city of Coppell’s Make a Child Smile program is back for the holiday season. Community members are encouraged to donate gifts to Coppell ISD students. Those wishing to participate can visit the program's website to select a virtual ornament that includes the child’s gift preferences and clothing sizes. City staff volunteers will deliver the gifts prior to Christmas. Gifts can be dropped off at the city manager’s office from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays. Cost varies. 255 E.
