With early voting ending June 11, the winner of the runoff election for Lewisville City Council Place 2 is set to be decided on June 15.

Neither incumbent William J. Meridith nor challenger Penny Mallet received more than 50% of the votes during the May 4 general election when there were three candidates. Mallet received 1,980 votes, or 41.52%, while Meridith got 1,753 votes, or 36.76%.

Early voting takes place in both Denton and Dallas counties. Election day is June 15, and voting hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. This runoff election is open to all registered voters in Lewisville, regardless of whether they voted in the May 5 general election, according to the city.

Meridith has served on the Lewisville City Council since 2021. He has previously served as the vice chair of the city's planning and zoning commission, as well as the chair of the transportation board.
