Lewisville and Coppell residents can begin casting their votes for the Nov. 7 election.

What you need to know

Early voting began Oct. 23 and runs through Nov. 3. There are several local and state items on the ballot.
  • Lewisville ISD voters will consider a $1.23 billion bond and voter-approval tax rate election, or VATRE. There are seven total propositions, including the VATRE. The bond aims to address district wide maintenance, repair and renovation needs; safety and security; technology upgrades; and athletic projects.
  • A $27 million bond to update levee and flood facilities in Denton County is also on the ballot. Per county officials, the bond will go towards fixing structural and storm drainage issues to levee and flood control facilities in Denton County Levee Improvement District #1, which consists of Southern Denton County and parts of northern Dallas County.
  • Voters will also find 14 propositions to amend the state constitution, including protecting landowners' rights, exempting child care facilities from taxation and raising the state's school district homestead exemption from $40,000 to $100,000.

Residents within Lewisville ISD can vote on the bond and the VATRE at the Denton County Elections Administration building, located at 701 Kimberly Drive, Room A111, Denton.

Dallas County residents can vote at any Dallas County Vote Center during early voting and on Election Day, including the Coppell Town Center located at 255 Parkway Blvd., Coppell.
