After filing to run in the May general election for Place 7 on the Coppell ISD board of trustees, resident Tracy Fisher announced her withdrawal from the race, according to district documents.

Fisher submitted her notice to withdraw March 9, meaning Jobby Mathew will run unopposed for Place 7—the lone candidate running unopposed in the CISD race.

Fisher is the first candidate to withdraw outright from the CISD election. Julie Waters withdrew her name from the Place 4 race in February but reclassified as a Place 5 candidate against incumbent David Caviness.

Place 4 is a contested race between Samit Patel, Ranna Raval and Jonathan Powers. Place 5 has the aforementioned Caviness and Waters running against each other.

Election day is May 6. Early voting begins April 24.
