The southbound lane of Moore Road between Pheasant Lane and Quail Lane will be closed through July 29.

City officials have scheduled the closure to allow for the installation and tie-in of a storm drain line for Coppell’s new Fire Station 5, according to a July 18 news release.

The details

The northbound lane of Moore Road was closed from July 11-20. The southbound lane construction began after the previous construction ended, according to city documents.

The Moore Road project is part of the construction of an additional fire station in Coppell to provide more customer service and quicker response time to citizens.

The context

A groundbreaking ceremony June 4 marked the beginning of construction for the nearly $12.5 million project. Coppell Fire Station No. 5 will be located at 157 S. Moore Road, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

The city’s fifth fire station is expected to help meet increased demands on the Coppell Fire Department because of growth and development in the city.
