Frisco’s Northwest Community Park will open Sept. 19.
Construction on the 122-acre park began in January 2025. Located along Teel Parkway near the PGA of America headquarters, the park is set to open nearly three months after its original June 2026 opening target.

Northwest Community Park was designed as a first-of-its-kind park geared toward cyclists. The park will include a splash pad, public art, playgrounds, shade structures, grills, restrooms, miles of hike-and-bike trails, along with an elevated prairie overlook observation deck.
The park is built for cyclists of all skill levels. The trails vary in experience, including 88.9% rated easy, 8.1% rated intermediate and 3% rated advanced. The prairie observation deck will feature gravity trails for cyclists to gain speed.
The park was originally intended for sports fields and facilities, but city officials previously said they had enough for current needs, and the topography of the area lent itself better to trails. Additionally, Northwest Community Park is capable of hosting 5K races without the need to close nearby roads.
“This new park is a precious community asset for Frisco and a destination for the wider region,” the city website states.
What else
The park’s grand opening will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a fun run and refreshments.
Northwest Community Park’s opening follows a recent investment in outdoor recreation areas, as Frisco recently approved $4.7 million in contracts for the construction of Frisco on the Green.
Construction also remains underway for Frisco’s Grand Park, which is set to be larger than New York City’s Central Park, with its first phase slated for completion in 2027.
