The gist
The closure is for sewer work for the Home 2 Suites and Residence Inn hotels being constructed in the area.
The closures started Feb. 12 and will continue to open each evening until concrete is poured. Once concrete is poured, Dallas Drive will close for a full five days.
There is no date for when concrete will be poured since it’s weather permitting, city staff said.
The projects
The two hotels will be constructed on the 4.5-acre lot adjacent to the Church of Christ and Cinemark properties. The Residence Inn will include 104 rooms and the Home 2 Suites will have 105 rooms, according to city documents.
The Residence Inn is expected to be completed May 2026 and Home 2 Suites does not have a completion date since the permit has not been finalized with the city.
The projects were approved by City Council in August, 2023, Community Impact previously reported.
