Part of the ongoing North Tarrant Express project, the Westport Parkway and I-35W intersection will be reconfigured beginning Feb. 5.
As a result, Westport Parkway will be reduced to one lane in each direction. City of Fort Worth officials are recommending traffic in the area use Alliance Boulevard to avoid congestion.
The reconfiguration of Westport Parkway will affect both eastbound and westbound traffic. The reduction in lanes is expected to last through 2023.
The change is necessary for completion of the Alliance Connector, which represents three simultaneous, ongoing projects that will upgrade portions of SH 170, I-35W and Haslet Parkway.
