Roanoke residents will be under a watering restriction for a couple of days next week, beginning June 23.

The details

Beginning at 10 a.m. June 23, city officials will implement Stage 3 watering restrictions that will remain in place until 12:01 a.m. June 25. The regulations prohibit outdoor watering, washing vehicles and filling or topping off of pools, a news release stated. Also during this time, the city splash pads and pool will remain closed, although the pool is regularly closed on Mondays.

The background

The restrictions happen as city of Fort Worth crews install a new water supply line for the Roanoke community. The new water line will serve as a secondary supply source, “which is a tremendous asset to our system,” the release notes. As the new water line expansion occurs, “it's crucial for all Roanoke residents to play a role in conserving water," according to the release.

The release also states installation work is anticipated to last approximately six hours. City officials will provide regular updates on the progress through their website and social media.
