Heather DeLapp said that when she and husband Ryan DeLapp were looking for the right location for their Bahama Buck's franchise they wanted to find a place where they could make a positive impact in their community.

“After searching high and low, we finally found the perfect location in Roanoke, conveniently situated near [SH] 114 and several neighboring cities that have limited options for year-round shaved ice and tropical desserts,” Heather said in an email.

According to Heather, the franchise's shaved ice is light and fluffy, and rivals the texture of real snow. The business will have over 100 original gourmet flavors and toppings. In addition to shaved ice, the menu features smoothies, açaí bowls, Red Bull infusions and iced coffees. Sugar-free options are also available.

“We're excited to bring Bahama Buck’s to the community and provide a fun and family-friendly environment where guests can kick back and soak up summertime all year long,” Heather said.

Heather added that the first 25 people in line 16 years of age or older Jan. 23 will receive free Bahama Buck's for a year.
