The fact that a handful of shops opened in the last year to satisfy our collective sweet tooth is just so, well, sweet.

Here is the rundown of treat shops that opened in the Keller, Roanoke and Northeast Fort Worth area, and two that are coming in 2025:

1. Nothing Bundt Cakes now open in Alliance

The bakery chain is known for its Bundtlets, personal bundt cakes that come in a variety of flavors, and other variations of bundt cakes.2. Micholandia Ice Cream now open in North Fort Worth

Micholandia Ice Cream opened near the Fort Worth and Keller border on Golden Triangle Boulevard.


The website states the store offers several cold treats, including:
  • 75 flavors of popsicles
  • 40 flavors of ice cream and fruit water flavors
According to the website, the fruit waters are made with fresh fruit and provide a more nutritious option to fizzy drinks.

The business also sells treats such as crepes, as well as Mexican snacks such as corn with lime, sour cream and seasonings.3. Duck Duck Scoop now open in North Fort Worth

Originally known as a food truck and for adorning its menu items with rubber duckies, Duck Duck Scoop now has a permanent place to sell sundaes, ice cream by the scoop and milkshakes in Fort Worth.4. Kid Kakes brings 'kupkakes' to Roanoke food hall

Deanna Robinson, a "kupkakologist" and self-described "happiness bringer," said she wants to change the world and build an empire one "kupkake" at a time. Her launching pad is her new spot inside The 206 food hall in Roanoke.


As for the initial reaction to her cupcakes, which include unique flavors such as pineapple upside-down cake made with real pineapple chunks, Robinson said people have had one of three reactions during the soft opening.

“They either stop whatever they’re doing, they start dancing or they start cussing, but in a good way,” Robinson said. “They’re just like, 'Oh, this is amazing.'”5. Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop

The business was founded in 2007 by Robert Powells and Ryan Morgan and the original store opened in 2009, according to the company’s website.

1. sweetFrog to serve frozen treats soon in Keller

The frozen yogurt store will soon be a new tenant in Keller Town Center.

A city of Keller news release states that sweetFrog offers a wide variety of premium frozen yogurts, with flavors such as:
  • Salted caramel popcorn
  • My little cupcake
  • Blue cotton candy
  • Mountain blackberry
Other options include diet-sensitive choices like no sugar added, low fat, nonfat and dairy free.2. Marble Slab Creamery to bring frozen treats to Roanoke

The ice cream franchise will be opening a location soon in the Roanoke Crossing shopping center.


Marble Slab Creamery locations feature homemade ice cream made in small batches daily. The menu includes:
  • Ice cream
  • Ice cream cakes
  • Shakes and floats
  • Signature sundaes
  • Free mix-ins
The ice cream shop franchise was founded in 1983 in Houston. Since then, it has grown to locations in several countries, including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Canada, Kuwait, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United States.
