Dallas Fort Worth International Airport remains the third-busiest airport in the world.

The breakdown

Airport Council International released total passenger traffic from 2024 April 14 and DFW Airport remained third for the busiest worldwide airport for the second year in a row.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta is No. 1 followed by Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates, according to a news release.

Planes fly to 260 destinations, including 73 internationally, from DFW Airport, according to the airport website.

DFW Airport had 87.8 million customers last year, up 7.3% compared to 2023 and more than 17% compared to 2019.


That is the highest growth rate last year among the world’s top three airports, according to an airport news release.

DFW also ranked third globally in aircraft movements, with 743,203 operations recorded last year, a 7.8% increase from 2023.
