Southlake Boulevard is one of the most heavily traveled roadways, and traffic is disrupted by vehicles slowing to turn, according to city documents. The work required relocating existing traffic signals and upgrading the pedestrian walkway, according to a city memo.

EARTC, a construction company out of Fort Worth, performed the work. The cost of the project was $917,000, with funding from the city and the 2006 Tarrant County bond, according the city website.
