Golden Triangle Regional Airport in Columbus, Mississippi, released a statement Jan. 21 that American Airlines will start flights to and from the airport to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on May 5.
According to a news release, flights will happen once a day aboard a Bombardier CRJ-700 jet.
“We are thrilled to have these American Airlines flights here at the Golden Triangle Regional Airport,” executive director Matt Dowell said in the release. “American Airlines has an excellent reputation across the country. Offering both eastbound and westbound service will significantly enhance our ability to serve our community.”

Golden Triangle Regional Airport will be the third destination in Mississippi for the Fort Worth-based airline, joining Gulfport and Jackson, according to the release.
The airport is near Starkville, Mississippi, the home of Mississippi State University.
