Council also approved an agreement with the city of Southlake to pay for half of the costs of the shared portion of North Kimball Avenue.
As outlined in the agreement for North Kimball Avenue from Dove Road to Meadowmere Lane, the county will recycle and stabilize existing roadway materials; regrade, shape and prime the roadbed; place two inches of asphalt base and two inches of asphalt surface; and backfill pavement edges.
Construction on Kimball Avenue began Oct. 26 and is expected to be completed by Nov. 18, the city’s newsletter stated.
For West Kimball Road from Meadowmere Lane to Lakeview Drive the county will place two inches of asphalt surface and backfill the pavement edges.
The city will be responsible for the cost of materials; all traffic control, such as flagmen and signage; and the city must make all necessary repairs to the existing roadway prior to the county starting work. Grapevine must also pay for one-half of the county’s fuel use.
