Construction on North White Chapel Boulevard has included the addition of a retaining wall, which serves to retain the soil that will be beneath the northbound lanes when complete. It will also act as a structural support for screening walls to provide privacy for nearby residential areas, according to a June 10 update from the city of Southlake. The retaining wall will be reinforced with concrete and will eventually include permanent masonry.

Timeline: completion in spring 2022

Cost: $17 million (entire project)

Funding source: city of Southlake
