The Gatehouse, a non-profit dedicated to helping single mothers to achieve self sustainability by overcoming temporary hardships, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this spring.

What's happening?

The nonprofit has helped transform the lives of nearly 800 single moms and their children through education and career initiatives, according to the organization.

On April 17 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, The Gatehouse will commemorate its 10th anniversary by discussing the impact it has had on families and new initiatives to come.

The backstory

The nonprofit was founded in 2015 by Lisa Rose and her husband, Matt, whose passions were to aid single moms and their children.

The Gatehouse supports these families by providing them with rent-free apartments and child care at its Grapevine campus while they complete either a career track or an education track offered to promote personal financial and economic stability.

The Gatehouse includes fully furnished one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in a gated community that features a playground, a chapel, a sports court, a picnic area and a pond stocked with fish, according to its website.
