United Way of Tarrant County announced that Regina Williams will be the interim CEO, starting Oct. 23.

Williams will fill in a role that was held by current president and CEO Leah King, who will be leaving in October for a job with the JPS Foundation.

The executive committee of the board of directors is launching a formal search to fill in the president and CEO role, according to a news release.

What you need to know

Williams currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Impact Officer for the nonprofit based in Fort Worth. Williams has been in that role since 2023 and has been with United Way of Tarrant County since 2018. Williams led strategic investment of financial and non-financial resources to improve outcomes for individuals and families, according to a news release.


Before joining the nonprofit, she was a social worker and community partnership manager at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Fort Worth.
