United Way of Tarrant County celebrated its 100th anniversary in November.

A 30-foot mural at Globe Life Field in Arlington was unveiled during a celebration for the anniversary. The United Way will bring the mural to communities throughout Tarrant County in 2023, according to a news release. The Tarrant County Commissioners Court, the city of Fort Worth and the city of Keller recognized Nov. 17 as Get United Day with official proclamations.

The nonprofit announced its vision, focus area and fundraising goals for the Get United campaign in Tarrant County this year.

There are four areas of focus for the United Way: community response, community health, financial empowerment, and education and learning.

Former Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams and his wife, Karen Williams, are the co-chairs of the campaign.

“We know the magic of United Way is twofold,” Jeff Williams said in a press release. “Identifying and understanding the needs of Tarrant County and building trust in programs to address tough problems facing our region, from food insecurity to youth gun violence to maternal health outcomes and more.”
